High specific strength syntactic foams using polyamide blend for injection molding applications
초록
Combination of hollow glass microspheres (GB), engineering plastic in industry give rise to polymeric Syntactic foams, which distinguish from traditional foams due to the gas entrapped in the GB. The interest in the use of hollow glass microspheres as polymer composites has been attracted recently because of the advantageous characteristics such as high compressive strength, low density, and other properties having thermal, electrical, and sound insulation. Using both PA 4,10 and PPA as polymer blend, present work would provide guideline to polymer industries in developing GB based syntactic foams prepared to tailor mechanical properties.
