Infrastructure urban architecture as Border Condition

초록

The study observes the rain pumping facilities, one of the most important urban environmental component, which have been functioned as urban infrastructure, reconsiders the relationship between the existing spatial structure of the facilities and other surrounding urban infrastructures of modern Seoul, and examines the ways how to revitalize such complex area as being alienated and filled with diverse urban infrastructures. The study intends to discover the historical value of environmental infrastructures supporting the city healthy, to convert such areas as being abandoned to be alienated to sound urban public spheres, to explore possibilities to recreate the traffic infrastructures to be environmental urban network, which has been acting as a border between Han River and the body of the city.
