Heating Energy Savings Analysis of Bypass Mode of a PVT-Air Coupled ERV

초록

As PV power generation efficiency degrades according to an increase in cell temperatures, overall energy saving effects can be anticipated by using air type PVT and connecting the heated air from the PVT into an energy recovery ventilator (ERV). For such application, a ERV bypass mode can be applied to maximize energy saving effects during the heating period. The proposed system and corresponding control methods were compared to a reference case using TRNSYS simulation. A classroom equipped with typical electric heat pumps, ERVs, and ten PVT modules was simulated. Results showed that the proposed system reduced EHP energy consumption by more than 9% and improved PVT power production by more than 5%. Particularly, higher saving effects were found for the proposed bypass mode control than for the case of common ERV control.
