This paper presents the MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking)control method of the PMSG high efficiency tidal generation system using the turbine model with a squir rel cage induction motor. The turbine model torque is contro lled by using mathematization of real blade characteristics. because of seaflow's swirling, it is difficult to measure th e velocity of a moving fluid. Therefore, except for previous method using information of the velocity of a moving fluid, the algorithm is presented in two ways. The first algorithm is controlled by tracking the optimal point, the generator spe ed and maximum grid power and the second one is presente d using the optimum tip speed ratio. The vector control of t he generator side converter and of the grid side converter is controlled respectively to obtain maximum torque and to reg ulate unity power factor. Using Psim simulation, the validaty of control algorism is verified.
