초록
While most Korean giant eunicids have previously been regarded as Eunice aphroditois, E. flavopicta, originally described from Japan, has been newly reported in South Korea. The Korean specimens corresponded to the diagnostic features of E. flavopicta in the articulation of the prostomial appendages and peristomial cirri, distribution and shape of branchiae, shape of dorsal cirri, and types of chaetae. While E. flavopicta was previously considered as a junior synonym of E. aphroditois, they were distinguished from E. aphroditois sensu stricto in the shape of their dorsal cirri and subacicular hooks. This study provides morphological and molecular data for Korean E. flavopicta specimens, along with taxonomic notes on E. aphroditois from South Korea.
