초록

The concept of ‘quasi-states’ formed by four-mode interference is proposed to reduce the length of 1310/1550 nm wavelength demultiplexer based on the Quasi-state Multimode Interference (MMI) mode. Using this QS design, this wavelength demultiplexer for 1.3 and 1.5 μm, designed to be about 1/5 of ordinary device length, is analyzed to have good extinction ratio of 24 dB for both wavelength from mode propagation analysis.
