Self-Reliable Urban Fragment : A Design on Rehabilitation of Fragmented Urban Block

초록

The study attempts to revitalize the neighboring block fragmented by the compound complex Times Square Yeongdeungpo, a so called a prime example of UEC(Urban Entertainment Center) in Korea, and to design the block to have proper relationship with the Square. The main argument is focused on how to articulate this long and narrow block, especially the north-west face, by 330 meters long and how to readjust the area which used to be prostitution quarters with regard to physical and psycho-cultural harmony with the new Square.
