초록

This paper is a survey of the proof of the Taniyama-Shimura-Weil conjecture for semistable elliptic curves over {\Bbb Q} obtained by A. Wiles [Ann. Math. (2), Vol. 141 (1995), no. 3, 443-551; MR 96d:11071] and R. Taylor and Wiles [Ann. of Math. (2), Vol. 141 (1995), no. 3, 553-572; MR 96d:11072]. The author also discusses the relations among the Taniyama-Shimura-Weil conjecture, Fermat's last theorem and the Hasse-Weil conjecture. Reviewed by Andrea Mori.
