CuO/ZnO/Al2O3 Catalyst Prepared with Various Precursor for the Synthesis of Methanol
초록
In this work, the effect of precursors on the catalytic activities of Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 (CZA) catalysts was studied for methanol synthesis by hydrogenation of carbon monoxide. CZA catalysts were successfully prepared by co-precipitation method using various precursors such as metal nitrate, metal acetate, and metal sulphate. High-resolution scanning electron microscopy (HR-SEM) was used for analyzing surface morphologies of synthesized catalysts. The specific surface area was determined by Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analysis with N2 sorption at 77 K. The crystallinity of synthesized catalysts was analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Catalytic activities of CZA catalysts for methanol synthesis were evaluated in a fixed bed reactor at 548K and 45 bar with syn gas (H2:CO=3:1). The CO conversion and the methanol space time yield were analyzed by gas chromatography. Catalytic activities and physiochemical properties of synthesized catalysts were found to be strongly dependent on precursors.
