Moprhology Evolution in Nanostructured Inorganic and Organic Materials Prepared with Block Copolymer Micellar Templates

Amphiphilic block copolymer/silica mesostructures were synthesized by in an acidic sol-gel solution containing poly(ethylene oxide)-b-poly(propylene oxide)-b-poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO-b-PPO-b-PEO, PEO weight fraction of 30 %) as a structure directing agent. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) measurements confirmed that increasing the amount of PEO-b-PPO-b-PEO with respect to TEOS resulted in a various spectrum of morphology expected from the phase diagram of block copolymers with different lengths of blocky segments.
