Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rare and locally aggressive cutaneous neuroendocrine carcinoma that usually arises in the head and neck or the extremities elderly patients. We describe the cytologic features of touch imprint of MCC. The touch preparation produced highly cellular imprint of loosely cohesive clusters and individual malignant tumor cells. Characteristic features of the tumor cells including round to oval with monomorphic nuclei, fine chromatin, inconspicuous nucleoli, and numerous mitosis raised differential diagnosis of malignant small round cell tumors.
