Aluminum Hull Plate Forming Using Double-sided Flexible Die and Stretching Clamps
초록
Multi-point stretching forming (MPSF) is a flexible technique for manufacturing three-dimensional curved sheets. MPSF has a pair of opposed matrices of punch elements and stretching clamps that can deform the sheet metal into the curved surface. Present study employs the MPSF to fabricate the Aluminum sheet of small ship. The hull pieces are stretch-formed on the flexible multi-point die generated by the matrices of punch elements. Numerical simulations of the processes for forming free surfaces were carried out by finite element analysis. The contacting process between sheet metal and punch elements in MPF was considered and the stretching force was investigated in order to prevent the failure on the work-pieces as well as to minimize the spring-back effect. Spring-back processes of MPSF were simulated based on implicit algorithm. The spring-back and their distributions under different surfaces were investigated through both experiments and simulations. Comparisons of the calculated results with experimental data and numerical solutions are given.
