Fundamental Research on Virtual Reality of operating Ship and Self-propulsion Performance using CFD

The Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is utilized throughout research in various industries, and it evolves day by day through improvements in computer performance and processing speed. It has been verified that experimental research can be replaced as the accuracy of numerical research using CFD increases. Recently, there has been an increasing interest in research on estimating the operation efficiency of vessels at actual sea conditions, and CFD studies on the operating performance of vessels in waves are being conducted. In this paper, operating KVLCC 2 ship in waves is realized virtually using the CFD calculation method, observation of flow phenomenon around a ship is performed.
