Natural fibers reinforced bio-based thermosets are green alternatives offering biobased solutions for climate change and depleting fossil fuels. Apart from sustainability, the researchers are looking for viable options to degrade and recycle natural fiber-reinforced biobased thermosets to reduce landfill and white pollution. This study embodies the novel approach of chemically degrading treated jute fiber-reinforced vanillin epoxy (VE) thermosets using an acid degradation technique coupled with the recyclability of jute fibers. The recycled jute fiber was re-impregnated with biobased vanillin epoxy resin using the VARTM technique. SEM and flexural properties of recycled jute fiber reinforced VE thermoset showed the potential for reusability of jute fiber. This study showed the prospective for recycling natural fiber from biobased thermoset matrixes reducing landfill and adding advantages of biobased materials.
