A CREATION OF NEW SENSE OF PLACE ON THE URBAN EDGE THROUGH AN ANALOGY OF HUMAN AND RAIN-WATER’S MORTALITY

The purpose of this study is to promote a new awareness for rainwater pumping station which is the countermeasures of the city against the increased rainfall in today's abnormal climate, and to seek for solutions to reuse them as the urban program. Recognizing considerable number of rainwater pumping stations located between old downtown of Seoul and the Han River, In particular, as an intentional terrain vague, the study attempts to suggest complex urban program to revitalize the urban edge to have the sense of place, which has been alienated for a long time.
