This study investigates the bead forming process in cam-forming by incorporating the effect of springback. Finite element simulations were conducted using ABAQUS computer-aided engineering (CAE) to analyze the deformation behavior. Since bead geometry influences performance, achieving high roundness and an optimal shape is essential. The effect of springback was analyzed by evaluating the shape before and after including springback. The stress distribution varied depending on the number of die segments, leading to different material deformation behaviors with springback. Increasing the number of cams improved roundness and final shape accuracy but resulted in higher die manufacturing costs. To achieve an optimal balance, the cam-forming process was optimized by considering roundness, bead geometry, and die manufacturing costs. These findings provide guidelines for bead forming die design, enabling a more accurate prediction of the resulting product and enhancing the overall efficiency of the forming process.
