Preparation and Characterization of PSZ fibers through sol-gel process

초록

Zirconia fiber is structural material which exhibits high strength,high toughness, high resistance to temperature and chemicals. In manufacturingwirconia fibers a sol-gel method which can produce highly pure and homogeneous material at low temperature is widely employed. In this study, we determined the optimum experimental parameters such as molar ratio of starting materials, concetration,temperature,viscosity,various stabilizers-CaO,MgO,Y2O3 and PH range required to manufacture partially stabilized zirconia fibers from the zirconium alkoxide solutions. specific surface area,porevlume,fraction of tetragonal zirconia and microstructure analysis were carried out to the samples heat treated at various temperatures. X-ray,FT-IR and micro-Raman studies on the phase transformation of ZrO2 fiber associated with heat treatment will be presented
