Parametric Studies for Sloshing Assessment of Failure Pressure in Mark III LNG Cargo Containment
초록
Sloshing motion of LNG cargo containment generates violent loads on insulation panels. Sloshing pressure is represented by the pressure amplitude, duration time and skewness rather than actual history since it is more practical to use the idealized triangular pressure than to reflect the pressure history. Sloshing pressures obtained by the small-scale model test are simplified by triangular impacts with respect to their duration and skewness. In order to determine the structural safety of the containment system by the perspective view of failure pressure, we have performed the several parametric calculations with varying amplitude and duration time. Structural behavior of Mark-III panel is parametrically calculated. Meanwhile, the failure pressures given the duration and skewness are suggested after parametric calculations are conducted to investigate the effect of skewness and duration time on the structural response. Evaluation of damage index is also discussed.
