Nanostructured SnO2:TiO2 solar cells sensitized by RuL2(NCS)2 dye were fabricated, and their photoelectrochemical properties were investigated. The bilayered system shows higher IPCE(incident photon-to-current conversion efficiency) value than the single and composite system. A maximum IPCE value, 82.4%, was reached at 530nm wavelength in the bilayered system with 3.5 mm-thick SnO2 and 7mm-thick TiO2. The higher IPCE value in the bilayered system is attributed to the promotion of the charge separation by fast electron transfer process in the RuL2(NCS)2 dye-TiO2-SnO2 system with different energy levels.
