초록
The correlation function of an optical field in the space frequency domain is known to be the cross-spectral density and it generally admits a series expansion, which is called the coherent-mode representation. In this paper, we examine the physical significance of the coherent-mode representation and investigate its contents in terms of global coherence. We obtain the coherent-mode representations for a Guassian correlated and a Bessel correlated cross-spectral densities and compare their global coherence.
