Setting the Restoring Force Model based on Moment-Curvature Relationship of Circular Section Steel Bridge Piers corresponding to the Allowable Displacement

The purpose of this study is to investigate the method used to set the restoring force model based on the moment-curvature relationship (M-φmodel) for the non-linear dynamic analysis of steel bridge piers with circular sections. The M-φmodel was decided for the purpose of adequately estimating the displacements corresponding to the maximum loads obtained in the cyclic experiments. The suitability of the proposed method was confirmed by comparison with experimental data and elasto-plastic finite deformation analysis results.
