Fine Slits for MVA-mode LCD; Are they beneficial?

In this work, we report our investigation on the optical characteristics of MVA mode LCD with use of 3D-FEM numerical simulator, TechWiz LCD. The simulation revealed that the transmittance of the MVA-LCD with fine slits can be enhanced tremendously as evidenced by the previous experimental work. The structure of fine-slit for the MVA cell was optimized in terms of transmittance and viewing angle.
