초록

This study departs from criticizing the subway stations, in spite of its definite characteristics as urban component, are uniformly built anywhere in the city with no relationship with the surrounding context. The thesis asks how to make those city transportation infrastructures like metro stations, bus stop, or bus terminals, build a certain regional identity, while at the same time providing people with reasonable access and circulation, and how to create infra-scape which acts as an integrated social platform that unites surrounding context physically as well as psychologically. The study, through a theoretical investigation on the given area, aims at confirming the fact that a subway station, as a public space, requires not only a traffic-infra function but also a sense of place to be shared, and verifying that a station as a complementary device responding to psycho-cultural aspects of the city, is to establish a collaborative platform helps the associated community to create new vision. Keywords: transportation infrastructure, social platform, public concern, shared
