Finger contracture associated with forearm infection mimicking neurogenic claw hand deformity
초록
Claw hadn deformity is prodeced by imbalance of the intrinsic and extrinsic hand muscles. It can be caused by peripheral neuropathies such as median or ulnar neuropathy, hereditary motor sensory neuropathies and by spinal cord disorders. We have experienced selective flexion deformity of the ring and little fingers resembling a mild type of claw hand deformity resulted from soft tissue infection within the deep flexor muscle of the forearm in a middle aged woman. After excision and drainage of the pus from flexor muscle and long forearm splinting, rehabilitative exercise therapy on the flexor muscles restored normal range of motion to these fingers.
