Application of a Multiphysics Model for the Continuous Casting of Stee
초록
This manuscript presents the application of a multiphysics model in the continuous casting of steel with relevant examples. An advanced mathematical model has been built by integrating sub-models for turbulence, multiphase flow, magnetohydrodynamics, heat transfer, and solidification. The manuscript highlights three practical examples where the models were implemented for an industrial billet caster and a pilot-scale slab caster: 1) evaluating casting performance of mold powders, 2) testing non-sinusoidal mold oscillation settings, and 3) analyzing mold design.
