일본 오사카시 모자생활지원시설의 공간이용 및 운영에 관한 연구
초록
This study aims to investigate the spatial use and program operation features of the short-term residential facilities exclusively built for low-income female-headed single-parent families in Osaka city, Japan. The research was conducted using a mixed-method approach. Previous literatures were reviewed on the relevant welfare support policies and regulations for single-mother residential facilities by the Central and Osaka city authorities in Japan. The study also examined the spatial features of four single-mother residential facilities in Osaka city. Among these, two residences were selected for a further in-depth case-study via field visits and interviews with the managing directors. In addition, an interview with a managing director from a South Korean single-mother family residence was conducted for further comparison with the aforementioned two residences in Osaka city. Particularly, spatial use, service program and management features were analyzed. The following are some examples derived from the study results: focusing on a family’s privacy and security via a private unit space, offering diverse in-house and out-sourcing socio-psychological programs for mothers, providing in-house child-care services for children of varying age, pursuing communication with the neighborhood and participation in community activities, and continuing aftercare programs to manage former residents.
