Novel Cationic Palladium(II) Complex with 2-oxygen and 2-nitrogen donor atom

Cationic palladium(II) complexes containing 6,6'-bis(alkoxymethyl)-2,2'-bipyridine ligands(alkoxy: ethoxy, cyclohexyl, phenoxy) were synthesized and characterized by 1H, 13C NMR and elemental analysis. These complexes were obtained by reaction of [(cod)PdMe(CH3CN)]BF4 with the ligand in THF solution. Unexpectedly, we could obtain complexes with an n1-Pd-cod(cyclooctadiene) bond. Chemistry of these complexes were investigated.
