Gif based System for Selective Oxidation of Allylic and Benzylic Alcohols

초록

Gif-based system for selective oxidation of allylic and benzylic alcohols has been developed. This system consists of periocid acid as oxidant and iron(III) chloride/picolinic acid (1:2) as catalyst in a typical Gif solvent system that is pyridine/acetonitrile. This system oxidizes efficiently various allylic and benzylic alcohols (yield: 70-100%).
