A Method of Branch Metric Calculation in Punctured Trellis Coded Modulation

In this paper, a method of branch metric calculation for punctured TCM coded modulation is proposed. While the second condition[3] is not satisfied, but the summation of each bit metrics maintain the properties of big or small order relations as conventional branch metric in TCM. The simulations' relsult show a very little difference between the new method and original method.
