Trust consciousness of Korean high school students.

The purpose of this research is to examine the senior high school students’ trust consciousness by indigenous psychological approaches. More specifically, the aim of this study is to investigate the adolescents’ perception of trust toward their father, mother, teachers, close friends, and strangers on a 5- point Likert Scale. In addition, an open-ended questionnaire is analyzed from the responds receive by the adolescents and their parents. The open-ended questionnaire asks the adolescents and their parents to write the phrases of why they trust the target person (e.g., father, mother, close friends, and strangers). Then the trust consciousness is analyzed with other variables such as sex, self-efficacy, life-satisfaction, academic achievement, and socio-economic status. The results are discussed in relation to the previous research such as the parent-child and human relationship (Kim & Park, 2000, 2001).
