The Properties of Polyurethane-Silicone Hybrid Foam According to the Content of Various Flame Retardants
초록
n this study, we investigate the flame retardant properties of a polyurethane-silicone hybrid foam with added expandable graphite and ammonium polyphosphate, which are commonly used flame retardants. Expandable graphite can expand hundreds of times its original size and has a layered structure that allows for easy incorporation into various materials. Ammonium polyphosphate can delay the spread of fire by decomposing into polyphosphoric acid and ammonia at 250°C, releasing carbon dioxide. When used together, the expanded graphite can expand and then be agglomerated by the polyphosphate, resulting in even stronger flame retardant properties. We will use measurement techniques such as the Cone calorimeter and TGA to study the flame retardant properties of the hybrid foam with varying amounts of the two additives, as well as examine changes in properties such as apparent density and tensile strength.
