Global Network Corporations in Transport and Communication

초록

This paper seeks to provide an antidote to the proliferation of compartmentalized research in Korea studying single transport and telecommunications modes in isolation. Specifically, the paper explores the extent to which national network corporations in transport and communications based in Korea have been transformed into global network corporations (GNCs). Progress towards this desired political goal are gauged by examining strategic developments in Korean container shipping, air transport, and telecommunications to provide insights into the prospects for multimodalism and intermodalism.
