Technological Regime and Green Innovation

Paradigm of Korean techchnological innovation covers information technology (IT), bio-technology (BT), nano-technology (NT), fusion technology (FT), and green technology (GT), which includes technological innovation in energy, environment and resources sectors, in good order. The author explores the main characteristics of green innovation/technology compared to IT, BT, NT, FT, and other technological innovation using technological regime framework. The author uses technological regime framework to explain green innovation. Main constructs of technological regime are 1) cumulativeness of technological innovation, 2) frequency of innovation, 3) fluidity of technological trajectory/path and 4) unpredictability (Lee & Lim, 2001). Each concept will be explained and be used for comparision of technological sector. Korean traditional industries can be classified into two or three types.
