In this study, the performances of various turbulence closure models are evaluated in the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes analysis of four different types of test case; two-dimensional subsonic flow past on NACA 4412 airfoil, two-dimensional transonic flow in a diffuser, transonic flow over an axisymmetric bump, and three-dimensional transonic flow over the ONERA M6 wing. The standard k-ε model, an algebraic stress model and two Reynolds stress models, i.e., GL and SSG models are used as turbulence closure models. Thin-layer approximations are applied to the governing equations. However, in the case of diffuser flow, both solutions of thin-layer and full Navier-Stokes equations are compared. The performance of Reynolds stress models is satisfactory in the prediction of surface pressures, but has some problem in the predictions of mean velocities adjacent to the walls.
