Artin groups, mapping class groups and categorical delooping

Wajnryb proved that there are no geometric embeddings of Arin groups of type E6;E7;E8 into mapping class group of surfaces. In this talk we give examples of embeddings of various Artin groups into mapping class groups. We also give geometric constructions of some categorical models to investigate the homological properties of those embeddings, using the categorical delooping technique.
