Ultrasgonographic findings of mastitis in nonpeurperal patients
초록
The purpose of this exhibition is to present the US findings of mastitis in nonpuerperal patients. We reviewed the US findings of 12 nonpuerperal patinets with surgically prove mastitis. US imaging was performed using Acuson XP 10 with 7-10 MHz linear transducer. US findings were evaluated in lesional size, margin, echogenicity, location and adjacent ductectasia. The mean diameter was measured as 2.3 cm. US depicted the margin: smooth in 5 cases, irregular in 4 cases, and lobulated in 4 cases. Internal echo-texture was presented as mixed and homogeneously low in 7 and 6 cases, respectively. The most common site of the lesion was subareolar are, and then left upper outer, right upper outer, left lower outer, right lower outer quadrant in decreasing order of frequency. Ductectsia was detected in one. In nonpuerperal patients, mastitis is not common presentation and mimics other malignant breast lesion. US findings are useful for detection of inflammatory breast lesion, and careful analysis of US findings is helpful for differentiation from the other breast mass lesion.
