Intraoperative Systemic Cancer Cell Dissemiation during Radical gastrectomy for Gastric Cancer

The possibility of a systemic dissemination of cancer cells during surgery for stomach cancer is likely to increase proportionally with the disease progression, particularly in the diffuse types. Careful surgical strategies to avoid excessive manipulation are mandatory, and new modalities to prevent the intraoperative hematogenous cancer dissemination should be developed in the future.
