The high temperature flow behavior of Zr-2.5Nb alloy was investigated by interruption and subsequent annealing and then continuing the tension/compression deformation at the strain rate of 1.5×10-3. The increase of yield stress after interruption and subsequent annealing at 850℃ for 5min seems to be due to interaction of Cr+Fe impurity atoms and dislocation substructure. Therefore, the increase of yield strength accompanying the sacrifice of the elongation by multi-pass hot rolling can be explained in terms of the interaction between impurity atoms and dislocation substructure. The flow softening at high temperature of this alloy is attributed to dynamic recrystallization.
