Standardization of Anthropometric Measurements for Korean Standards

This study was performed to standardize the anthropometric terms and measurements for Korean standards and to enhance the reliability of data of 5 th national survey that will be carried out in 2003 to the international level. The study of the literature was reviewed: the report of ISO 8559(1989), ISO 7250(1996), ISR report(1993), U.S Army survey(1988), DIN 33402 Teil 1(1978), DIN 33402 Teil 2(1986) in Germany, JIS(1997) in Japan, Korean anatomical dictionary and Korean dictionary.In the imitation survey, the problems of error and the limits of acceptable differences among several observers measuring the same subjects were analyzed. Korean anthropometric terms and 119 measurements were decided and defined.
