Development of an RC Model Including Set-point Temperature for Predicting Room Temperature and Cooling Energy

In this study, an RC model using set-point temperature as the control variable was developed to overcome the limitations of conventional models. Traditional RC models predict the room temperature using the cooling input energy, which does not reflect the actual control variable of an AHU, leading to control performance errors. The proposed model improves the RC structure by considering the thermal relationship between set-point and room temperatures, allowing simultaneous prediction of both room temperature and cooling input. This can increase the reliability of AHU operation simulations and improve control performance when applying optimal strategies. © 2025 Building Simulation Conference Proceedings.
