Mapping of vegetation coverage on disturbed grassland can monitor the erosion degree of vegetation area, this monitoring was very important in ecosystem aspects. Study area was disturbed or eroded by frequent passages of road-off vehicles. This paper was aimed to compare several remote sensor data for mapping of grassland coverage. The two high-resolution images and four middle-resolution images were used, and these datasets were processed by the conventional classification methods, level slicing method using Vegetation indexes (VIs), and regression mapping method. The high-resolution image, Daedulous image was effective at the percent coverage mapping of grassland and middle-resolution images, SPOT and ASTER images showed higher mapping capability of grassland coverage. Comparing the conventional classification methods, level slicing and regression method used several VIs provided accurate mapping results of grassland coverage.
