Polyvinylpyrrolidone-crosslinked aerogel for improving mechanical strength

초록

Conventional silica-based aerogels are promising materials. ? But they have weak mechanical properties. ? We took a new approach to reinforce mechanical properties by adding polyvinylpyrrolidone before sol-gel process. ? The reaction between PVMDMS and PVP occurred in sol-gel system ? As a result, PVMDMS_PVP aerogels shown improved elastic modulus and thermal stability.
