Pressure-Sensitive Mechanoluminescence Membrane made of ZnS:Cu-Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)
초록
The light emission from various organic and inorganic microparticles such as SrAl2O4:Eu,Dy (SAO), ZnS:Cu, and ZnS:Mn in response to mechanical stimuli such as friction, force, pressure, and torque has been well-known as mechanoluminescence (ML) phenomenon. ML has been also referred to as fracto-, piezo-, or elasticoluminescence. Recently, there has been growing interest in ZnS:Cu-embedded polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) composite because of its mechanically driven strong luminescence suitable for flexible pressure sensor applications. In this study, ZnS:Cu-PDMS composite will be fabricated, as shown in Fig 1, and the luminescence will be measured under the dynamic pressure to characterize pressure-sensitive ML membrane. The proposed ZnS:Cu-PDMS membrane will offer potential applications in pressure monitoring systems such as intraocular pressure (IOP) monitoring system
