Genetic engineering and expression of a recombinant fusion protein possessing FGF-2 and fibronectin

We have previously reported the synergistic effect of fibronectin and FGF2 on osteoblast cell adhesion through ERK pathway (BBRC2002 jul26;295(40:898-902). Here we describe engineering of a fusion protein contaning fibronectin fragment 9FNIII9-10) connected to the COOH-terminus of FGF-2. Purified FGF2-FNIII9-10 fusion protein exhibited significant increased cell adhiosion.
