초록

Objective: To compare the safety and efficacy of sublingually administered versus intravaginally administered misoprostol for labor induction at term Method: 67 women with medical or obstetric indications for induction of labor after 37weeks of gestation were randomized to receive 50μg of misoprostol intravaginally or sublingually. The dose was repeated every 6hours to maximum of 3 doses if indicated. Previous cesarean delivery was excluded. The main outcome measure was the induction-delivery interval. Result: There was no significant difference between the two groups with regard to induction-delivery interval(629±342 min in the sublingually administered group vs 790±405 min in the intravaginally administered group, P=0.9). There were no difference in the incidence of tachysystole prolonged contraction, abnormal fetal heart rate, hyperstimulation in the two groups. neonatal outcomes were also similar. Conclusion: Sublingual administration of 50μg misoprostol appeares to be as effective as vaginal administration 50μg misoprostol for labor induction at term.
