초록
The purpose of this study is to examine the landscape design strategy developed in England from the period around 1740 and to review today's design influenced by this English 'Picturesque' garden. In this study, the arguement concentrates on Claude Lorraine's painting, Coast View of Delos with Aeneas with Virgil's Odyssey will be described in order to investigate the way how the picturesque and narrative conspire to create a fictional garden, Stourhead designed by Henry Hoare and the process of permutation in signification and symbolization.
