Analysis for ice impact experiment and ice-structure interaction using pendulum equipment

초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the dynamic material properties while ice impact tests for the dynamic properties of arctic steel and ice loads impacting ships or offshore structures operating in polar regions. Structural damage of offshore structures are mainly caused by the interaction between ice and the structure. In this study, a impact pendulum was designed to verify the dynamic constitutive equation of an arctic steel subjected to ice impact. The ice impact test is not an actual ship-to-ice collision, but an small scale impact test to investigate the dynamic deformation properties of the ice and steel. In future work, FEA will be used to verify the response of the structure and the pressure due to an ice collision.
