QoS Negotiation Algorithm for Effective Radio resource Allocation

초록

It is very difficult to use limited resources in wireless network though it offers much convenience to many people. Furthermore it is expected that voice-centered telecommunication pattern moves to multimedia services just as web browsing, videophone, video on demand and so on rapidly in third generation wireless network system. Therefore it is very important to use limited wireless resources for the sake of satisfactory multimedia services to as many as possible This study suggests methodology that increase usability of radio resources and applicable for IMT-2000 that the third generation network system and All IP network that the next generation network system. We suggest two methods that increase availability of radio resources. The first is that reserve area for handoff and emergency call makes variable. For this, we use current allocation information with recent information and long-term statistical information. Second, it adjusts bandwidth for in-service call dynamically within the limited scope. The adjustment based on analyzing bandwidth requirement properties of the services provided by IMT-2000. By simulation results, this study gets excellent call admission rate with only dynamic reserve area define algorithm, and get further excellent results with bandwidth coordination algorithm.
