Phase Error Analysis for Output Characteristics of Arrayed-Waveguide Grating Device

초록

As the size of optical devices becomes smaller, simple calculation of phase change along the arrayed waveguide becomes more erroneous due to the propagation constant variation from the curved waveguide and the mode mismatch. Here, we analyze a phase change error of the optical waveguide between a simple design and the elaborate design of the propagation mode and offset distance. For the rib type waveguide, the position shift at a center wavelength was about 0.2nm when the angle was 90°.
