초록
The numerical modeling of dynamics of liquid crystal cell helps to understand the switching mechanism. Several models of liquid crystal cell were developed for dealing with pure nematic, twisted nematic, and cholesteric liquid crystal materials [1]. Two approaches to calculate the governing equations numerically are finite difference method and finite element method [2][3]. It is difficult to obtain accurate solution by the finite difference method for various structures of liquid crystal cell (e.g. TN, IPS, MVA, SSFLC etc.) due to the geometric complexity.
